Monster High – The Great Scarrier Reef (2016)

Monster High: The Great Scarrier Reef (2016) takes the ghouls under the sea — literally. It’s a splashy, colorful adventure where Lagoona Blue finally gets her moment to shine, and trust me, she totally deserves it 🐬💙.

After an accident at school, Lagoona, Frankie, Draculaura and the rest get sucked into an underwater world where everyone has fins instead of feet. Monster mermaids? Yes, please! The whole setting is a visual dream — glowing reefs, floating hair, and sea-monsters with serious style. But it’s not just pretty: Lagoona has to face her past, deal with old rivalries, and prove she’s more than just the “nice girl.” 💪🌊

There’s also some awesome sea-creature designs (seriously, the transformations are SO fun), and themes of courage, confidence, and embracing who you are — even when you’re out of your comfort zone. The new characters add spice, and the underwater setting gives the movie a magical, otherworldly feel.

While it’s not the most plot-heavy of the Monster High films, it is one of the most visually unique. Plus, it’s great seeing Lagoona take the lead for once. If you’re into mermaids, glowing vibes, and deep-sea self-discovery, this one’s a total swim-win 🧜‍♀️⚓✨
